Question about damaged items
Lets start off by saying I like the items. Not as much as I would have if they had been packed correctly, described correctly (Which could be my problem) and the seller had better communication. (I have emailed about two different issues and have gotten email back on one of them.) Bought a lot of widgets to resell. The items are worth a bit more then what I paid for and realize if something is good enough to keep it is good enough to pay for so payment isnt the problem. I have two problems. How the items were packed because when I received them the post office had smashed the side of the box and all the items went from very good shape to good or so shape. Once again, the items are still worth money, just not as much. The packing was substandard and when I got the items my great delivery person had done everything she could to keep the box from vaporizing. She basically saved the seller from harm. The item weighed 55 lbs and they used a thin box to ship with no padding. My second problem with the auction, which is probably my fault because I didn't ask a question, though it never occurred to me to ask is the items were not described as cut outs. Cut out devalue the items again but not much. So, I just need help to see if I am being overly picky of if I have a reason to be upset. Finally one of the items was a totally different item then described. It did change the final outcome of what I was going to get for all the items. This was an auction for laserdiscs and the item in question was a record. I like the items and they work. It is just the covers are smashed up a bit now and Should I drop it or should I do something? Thanks in advance Chris|||It was the seller's responsibility to get the items to you in perfect condition, NOT so-so condition.Have you contacted the seller yet about the condition of the items?Sounds like they sure didn't use a sturdy enough box.If they are a good seller, they should at least send you a partial refund for the damaged items, or offer a full refund upon return of all items. In the case of the one item being not the same as the one described in the listing, tell the seller about it, and they should send you the correct item.Again, you will probably have to return this item first, but they should pay for the return shipping as it was not your fault.Contact the seller and see what they say.|||I have emailed them once. I will email them again today as well. The items are no longer in the condition they were in but I still want them. The box was pretty cruddy. As I said my delivery woman saved the seller from a lot of grief because it was seriously falling apart. Priority mail packing tape is amazing.|||What is it you want the seller to do then, if you like the items enough to keep them? Are they stil usable for their intended purpose? If so, then seems everything is OK.About the item that was not the same as described in the listing, do you want it or the one you thought you were getting? If you want the correct item, tell the seller they sent the incorrect one and ask for the correct one.|||If you still want them and the seller does not feel like giving a partial refund(many will not because of scams-not you but its a common way to get an after sale discount)nothing to do except rating him w appropriate fb and starsIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||To sum up the OP, Chris wants to keep everything but find a nice way to ask for a partial refund, due to the seller's inept packaging de-valueing the lot. Anyone?|||James, that's what I said on the other thread he started about this problem!|||Considering you can still make at least $300 off this lot I don't quite know what the problem is. You got your moneys worth from them all you can do now is leave feedback. You say you want to keep and it isn't the sellers fault if you can't make say $500 instead of $300 from the lot. Sounds like you got a great deal. I would just move on and ding his shipping star. I personnally would ask you to return for a full refund but I haven't seen pictures of the packaging so I guess I don't quite know what your asking for. If you are wanting a partial refund then you need to come out and say that. Send the seller pics of the packaging and ask for $xx back. What is the difference between laser discs and DVDs? I guess I never heard of laser discs. This is a posting ID to help fight against AI or RLI. I have no agenda other than to express my opinion, which is just that, an Opinion.|||Laserdiscs are bigger dvds. That was the reason I was torn about the whole matter.
