I have not had this issue before. I currently have 429mb free on my Ipod Touch 32gb. This total, 429mb, is with my pictures synced. My current photos folder is 723mb which transfers to 345.7mb to the Ipod. It seems that most of the time when I remove/connect my Ipod Touch, I get an error that says it can not sync my photos because there is not enough room. So my photos are removed from my Ipod. After that I will have 776mb free. I try to sync again and it fails. Third time is evidenlty a charm because it will sync the photos. As I said before the update it has never happened.
