Just received a new Touch 32GB. After charging it seemed fine - configured wi-fi and gmail. BUT then after updating I-tunes to 9 and registering, the update to 3.1.2 ran and produced a failure message. Attempts to restore have all resulted in failure. Reboot (off home)does not solve problem. Restarting the computer and restarting I-Tunes 9 results in message that restore is needed, but that always fails - mostly with error message 1604. Tried with firewall turned off - result same. Computer does not see that Touch is plugged in, but Touch does wake up to I-tunes plus USB cable screen when it is plugged in.
